Are High Waisted Jeans Making a Comeback?

We all know that high waisted jeans are one of those particular styles of jeans that are going to keep making a comeback. Most famously worn in the 1970s, wide legged and high waisted jeans were once the height of fashion and have since then come back, causing many people to wonder – could I pull that style off?

The main thing to remember about high waist jeans is that they are just that – ‘high’ waisted. This means that there is a lot more material around the top of the jeans than many people are used to. Low rise jeans seem to have been the standard for such a long time that many people have seem to have forgotten that different jean styles doesn’t just mean the cut around the legs, it can be the section around the hips and waist too.

If you are proud of your tiny waist, high waisted jeans for women can be the perfect way to emphasise it. The high waist you get with a high waist jean can gather in the material of a loose floral top and give the jeans a beautifully feminine look. By combining wide leg flared jeans with a high waist, a floral top, and some chunky wedge heels, you can look like a modernised 1970s model.

Who Can Wear High Waisted Jeans?

However when a petite and curvy Kim Kardashian turned up to a promotional event last year wearing a pair, the rules were re-written. If you have curves and don’t mind showing them off, then you can try curvy jeans or high waisted skinny jeans with a pair of heels – you might like what you see!

Also, if you have nice legs and want to show them off or you just want to feel cooler on those hotter days, you can try a pair of high waisted jean shorts which will combine a great fashionable look with the functionality of keeping you cool.
